About De Kleinste Reus

At De Kleine Reus, child development is central in every respect. Development is only possible if there is safety, curiosity and commitment. Ensuring this is a joint responsibility: that of employees, parents and children.
We are inspired, among other things, by Kanamori's ideas: If one of us is not happy, no one is. We shape our education from a development-oriented perspective, known as OGO for short. Within OGO we assume that if children want to learn, they must be curious, have (self)confidence and be open to the world around them. Our educational offer focuses on securing the basics (curiosity, self-confidence and openness) on the one hand and on creating challenging situations on the other. Play and research are central to all activities. The starting point for these activities in the context of our education are the three M's:
  • Children need Meaningful, joint activities to develop and learn.
  • The professionals Mediate. They look for an offer that is interesting and meaningful for children themselves and promote their development and learning a lot.
  • The goal is a Main development; basic conditions, personal development and specific knowledge and skills in combination. Development is a coherent whole. It's about 'head, heart and hands'.

Parent committee

Daycare centers, after-school care institutions or childminder agencies have parent committees. The purpose of the parent committee is to provide solicited and unsolicited advice to the childcare organization about the quality of care. The parent committee maintains contact with the parents, the organization and the Municipal Health Service (GGD).
Advisory right for parent committee childcare

The childcare organization is obliged to ask the parent committee for advice before making a decision on the following topics:

  • The implementation of responsible childcare and pedagogical policy. This includes, for example, the way in which the organization monitors and stimulates the child's development. Or, for example, mentorship.
  • The number of children for which a pedagogical employee is responsible (the so-called professional-child ratio).
  • The group size and the daily rhythm.
  • The recognizability of spaces and people (the so-called fixed faces criterion).
  • The training requirements for pedagogical employees and the language requirements.
  • The contribution of educational staff in training and interns to the care, upbringing and development of children.
  • The deployment of pedagogical policy officers and the training requirements that pedagogical policy officers meet. And the deployment of non-pedagogical staff.
  • The policy for education, safety and health. And for preschool education.
  • The opening hours.
  • The complaints procedure.
  • The price of childcare.

The childcare entrepreneur consults at least annually with the parent committee about the implementation of the pedagogical policy.

Composition of parent committee
Due to its independence, only parents sit on the parent committee. (Pedagogical) employees or managers are not allowed to participate in the committee. Employees who have a child at the childcare location are not allowed to sit on the parent committee. Except when it concerns a parent participation crèche (OPC). Every organization has rules about the number of members and the acceptance of new members. The organization records this in the parent committee regulations.
There is current information about the parent committee and how you can approach them on the groups' notice boards.
